The house

The textile bed, since 1978.

Flou was founded in 1978 by Rosario Messina. Its first product was Nathalie, designed by Vico Magistretti: a padded bed with completely removable covers. Nathalie received the Compasso d'Oro in 2020.

The range began with sleep, including beds, mattresses and bedding, and grew to sofas, armchairs and outdoor furniture. Designers include Magistretti, Rodolfo Dordoni and Carlo Colombo. In 2013 the company started Natevo, which makes furniture with integrated LED lighting. Flou states it favours natural, recyclable materials and local suppliers.
