Body Chair by Sancal
The Body Chair by Sancal takes its name from its silhouette: one soft, human-shaped shell. Designed by Sylvain Willenz in 2022, it is a complete seating programme, from the dining table to the office to the auditorium.
Available in Dubai through WSPR.
One Shell, Many Lives
The shell is pressed ash plywood with a water-based stain that lets the grain show. Leave it bare, or choose the upholstered version with a soft, fitted cover.
Twelve Bases
Wooden legs, with or without arms
Metal legs, plain, with arms or with a writing tablet (stacks 8 high)
Sled base, plain, with arms or with a writing tablet, which links side by side for auditoriums
Cantilever, swivel base with wheels, or four-star base
Upholstered legs, for the upholstered version
Also available: a quilted, removable seat cover for the wooden shell and a trolley that moves up to 15 stacked chairs.
Finishes & Pricing
The ash can be stained in any colour from Sancal's chart and the metal lacquered in any extra-matte colour, with a RAL match service available. The ash wood price is fixed; the upholstered price is the starting price, in Sancal's entry fabric series. Choose any fabric and we will confirm the exact price with your quote. Body is not made in leather.

Wooden legs, metal legs, a sled base, a cantilever, a swivel base with wheels and a four-star base. Metal legs and the sled base also come with arms or a writing tablet, wooden legs with arms, and the upholstered version can have upholstered legs.
Yes. With metal legs it stacks up to 8 high, and the sled base versions can link side by side for auditoriums. A stacking trolley carries up to 15 chairs without arms or 10 with arms.
The ash wood version has a fixed price. The upholstered version is priced in Sancal's entry fabric series; your chosen fabric sets the final price, which we confirm in your quote. Body is not made in leather.
