Fuji Pendant Lamp by Motarasu

The Fuji Pendant Lamp by Motarasu is an octagonal washi paper pendant with a cone-shaped Hiba wood top. Designed by Toshiyuki Tani.

Available in Dubai through WSPR.

An Octagon, Without Wire

Fuji is a reimagining of the traditional round paper lantern: an equilateral octagon formed through heat treatment alone, without a wire structure. Fuji is named after the famous Japanese mountain.

The shade comes from Mito, known as one of the main regions for paper lantern craft. The exterior is treated to repel water and stains, and the frame is PET resin. Motarasu is a Danish design house that brings Danish and Japanese designers together under one brand, with a shared taste for minimal form and careful craft.
