Hokore Pendant Lamp by Motarasu

The Hokore Pendant Lamp by Motarasu is a handcrafted bamboo pendant lamp made from nearly 1,000 bamboo strips. Designed by Toshiyuki Tani.

Available in Dubai through WSPR.

Strength of a Flower Bud

Hokore means proud in Japanese. The inspiration is the strength of a flower bud growing into full bloom. The shade is made with takesensuji, the traditional technique used for insect cages and paper lanterns, given a modern look.

It is handcrafted together with bamboo masters, and the play of light and shadow gives it a sculptural presence. Motarasu is a Danish design house that brings Danish and Japanese designers together under one brand, with a shared taste for minimal form and careful craft.
