The Ron Pendant Lamp by Motarasu is a pendant lamp with a washi paper shade and handmade bamboo top and bottom. The shade can be turned upside down. Designed by Toshiyuki Tani.

A Shade You Can Flip

Ron combines the bamboo craft of the designer with the softness and warmth of a paper shade. A unique detail is that the shade can be turned upside down, which changes the expression of the lamp.

The Japanese paper is wrapped around PET resin with a starchy glue, so light passes through and the shade casts less shadow of its own. It comes from Mito, one of Japan's three largest lantern-making towns. Motarasu is a Danish design house that brings Danish and Japanese designers together under one brand, with a shared taste for minimal form and careful craft.
