Mat Armchair Front Upholstery Steel by Normann Copenhagen
The Mat Armchair Front Upholstery Steel by Normann Copenhagen is a shell dining armchair with a hemp fibre shell and powder coated steel legs, upholstered on the front of the shell. Designed by Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen.
Available in Dubai through WSPR.
Hemp and Eelgrass
Mat explores how to make a contemporary shell chair with a lower environmental impact than the industry norm. The shell is crafted from hemp and eelgrass, a type of seaweed. The eelgrass is collected where it washes ashore along the coasts of Denmark, then dried.
The materials shape the look as well as the footprint, and bring out natural beauty and tactility. The collection is designed for disassembly and recycling, so its components can be recycled into new production.
