The Silla40 Chair by Sancal is a dining chair with four interchangeable backs, each a tribute to a decade of design, designed by Isaac Piñeiro in 2014.

A Tribute to the 20th Century
To mark Sancal's anniversary, Isaac Piñeiro designed four chairs, one for each of the company's decades, on the same structure. The difference lies in the backs, each inspired by a key moment in furniture design.

Each back pays tribute to a decade of furniture design: R20 to Breuer's Cesca, R30 to Aalto's chair 69, R40 to Eames' LCW, and R70 to Sottsass' Synthesis 45. The frame is the same for all four.
